A History of Community Commitment |
Building upon humble beginnings in 1981 at a hotel convention center on St. George Boulevard, the Jubilee of Trees has become the largest showcase of custom designed Christmas trees and wreaths between Salt Lake and Las Vegas. For the greater Washington County area, the Jubilee of Trees is a tradition attracting friends and neighbors to gather and welcome the holiday season together.
Volunteer driven - originally by hospital “Pink Ladies” - the Jubilee is a showcase of spectacular custom designed full-size Christmas trees, mini and table-top trees, holiday wreaths, gingerbread houses, gifts and seasonal décor. Blessed with southern Utah talent and hospitality, visitors feel a welcome embrace as they enter a magical wonderland. Amid the trees, several special events including a Teddy Bear Picnic for children, a fashion show, concerts and it's dynamic celebratory spirit appeal to all ages. Always responding to the health care needs of the community – from labor and delivery beds in the early 1980s to charitable lodging and cancer services in the 90s, today the Jubilee of Trees is directed towards supporting children's services by helping Life Flight helicopter services take flight at Dixie Regional Medical Center.
In the past four years the Jubilee has generated over $2.3 million for the introduction of Newborn Intensive Care, Maternal Fetal Medicine and a second Jubilee Home featuring special suites for mothers and babies and raising money to bring Life Flight helicopter services to Dixie Regional. Kerry Hepworth, Foundation President, says “The Jubilee of Trees continues to play a poignant role in the lives of our community. It brings to life a much anticipated holiday event and provides an outlet for some of the most dedicated and talented people in the area. The Jubilee has been the catalyst for generous outpourings - great and small - from all corners of the greater St. George metropolitan area and beyond. Finally, it has fulfilled a noble purpose, raising critical funds to enhance healthcare – a most vital component in the circle of life.”
